Golf's beginning history in the U.S.

Golf is sport that is played for fun, with family, friends, or coworkers. No one knows the history of it though. It isn’t an American sport and actually America was introduced to it late compared to other countries. The source I used was a reliable source because it is an international well known golf federation.

Golf is sport of fun and enjoyment to get outside. It is also a very competitive sport. It was played in the Paris Olympic Games. “Twenty two participants took part (12 men and 10 women) from four countries who competed in 36-hole individual stroke play events for men and women. The women’s Olympic champion was Margaret Abbot (USA) and Charles Sands (USA) was the men’s champion.1901 The rubber cored Haskell ball is introduced. It changed the way the game was played. The Haskell ball travelled farther than the old gutta-percha ball and cost considerably less because it could be mass produced”.

American did not find golf actually, UK founded it many many years ago. The Professional Golf Association (PGA) was made in the UK in 1901. The PGA of America was founded in 1916.  The first American PGA event was in New York at Siwanoy Country Club in New York.
