One of Japan’s holidays is called Children’s Day. Children’s Day in Japan is also called Boys Day. Celebrated at the 5th day in May at the 5th moon. During Children’s Day, families in Japan will put up the fish kites known as Carps on their posts that symbolized the number of children that each family has in their houses. In Japan, the Carps symbolizes determination and vigor. The reason that carps are represented this way is because carps have used their strength to overcome obstacles that are in the carp’s way. “ In Japanese folklore, the carp is a symbol of determination and vigor, overcoming all obstacles to swim upstream.” I consider this quote reliable because it’s from a website with the .org at the end. What I think about Children’s Day is that it’s a wonderful thing. I like how everything that is an object, such as the carp, symbolizes something so powerful then what I had heard in other holidays.
The activities that the Japanese people do is called the “kid” Olympics. The Kid Olympics are located at Tokyo in the Kasumigaoka Stadium. They used that event to thank their teachers, parents, and relatives. They also do the Kid Olympics to respects those that t took care of the kids. Children's Day Website is a type of website that tells people, that are studying Japan, of how people in Japan spend their day during Children's Day. If you are wondering what they eat during the holiday, they eat what is called Kawashi-mochi. A type of snack that is sticky rice with oak leaves wrapped around it. It sounds delicious that I maybe want to eat some myself when I go to Japan some day.

I though the topic about the Kid Olympics was the most interesting because I got to learn what people do during this event and how it is celebrated. It was really cool to learn that people use samurai helmets, and they symbolize bravery and strength. I thought the author could improve the analysis and the point of view. Instead of saying what the point of view was from the quote, maybe give the point of view of the source the information was given. Good Job!
