The Key to Happiness

The one answer everyone wants to know to the question, what is the key to being happy? Well there are many ways that can make one happy but, according to Matt Killingsworth ated in his Ted Talk says living in the moment is one way people can really achieve happiness. It’s is better to live in the present day then worry about what you have done, or what you are about to do. If you do this then you are not living in the moment and later in life when you try to go back and remember all the things you have done in your life you realise all you did was worry about the past and the future. This is definitely a key component in today's world that people really need to focus on doing. Living in the moment will make people enjoy the people they are around and also will make them feel happier. Also Matt Killingsworth explains how happiness has a lot to do with the “contents of moment-to-moment experience.”
Later on in the Ted Talk Matt explains the difference between mind wandering and living in the present day moment. People are less happy when their minds are wandering compared to when they are just focusing on what they are doing in the present. He explains when the mind wanders you are either thinking about something you wish you were doing, something you might have to do, or something that is very irrelevant and is just wasting your present day time. So, when your mind does not wonder many statistics show that people are much happier when they live in their present day moments.
