Because one-eighth of the world’s population lacks clean water, there are many organizations that create genius inventions that change the water crisis in a positive way. For example, an organization called Children International that focuses on eliminating poverty by “participat[ing] in a number of wide-ranging water, sanitation and hygiene ( WASH ) projects.” Children International works hand-in-hand with Planet Water Foundation because the foundation is what invents the water-filtration systems while Children International distributes them. What Planet Water Foundation has done is that they invented a water-filtration system that supports a whole entire community called AquaTowers. This device is so effective because it, “can be installed in a single day, require only simple maintenance and….provides clean water for 1,000 people on a daily basis.” With Children International and Planet Water Foundation working together, they have installed, “28 AquaTowers in the Philippines and India, providing clean water...to more than 28,000 people.”
This shows the amazing effects that Children International and Planet Water Foundation has on the effort to decrease the lack of clean water in some countries. Because both of these foundations have installed, “28 AquaTowers in the Philippines and India, providing clean water…to more than 28,000 people”, they have shown that the water sanitation crisis is indeed easily fixable. Both foundations have also shown how one smart idea, “provides clean water for 1,000 people on a daily basis.”
