Greenhouse gases

http://www.earthtimes.org
Global warming is slowly destroying our planet. Each year the Earth slowly gets warmer, and it slowly destroys the ecosystem. The North and South poles are effected the most by the global warming. When the atmosphere gets warmer the ice caps melt faster. With the ice caps melting the organisms that live there suffer greatly. Polar bears for example are going extinct due to the climate change. Their food supply is running short since they are dying as well, this makes the polar bear slowly starve without enough food. When the icebergs melt they fall apart and when this happens, any organisms on there will fall and die. This happens to a lot of penguins.
“ It is caused by a series of greenhouse gases (water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide) that absorb part of the energy, while the remainder escapes into space. This means that some of the sun's energy becomes trapped –thus making the lower part of the atmosphere, and Earth, warmer.” (WWF) The more gas that goes into the air, the more air pollution there will be and it will increase the greenhouse effect and make it hotter. People should try their best to not drive whenever they have the chance, but to walk or ride a bike instead to reduce the gases. Deforestation is a really big factor in global warming. Since trees take in CO2 (a chemical that traps sunlight and makes the Earth hotter) and produce oxygen, then the less trees there are the more CO2 there will be. So fixing deforestation can really help with the greenhouse effect.
