Rapid Population Growth is to Blame for this Crisis.
Africa News Service, March 25, 2011
Ephraim Kasozi
Our Population is growing so fast today that we are running short on the most abundant element on Earth, water. Author Ephraim Kasozi works for an international news organization, African News Service, and he has seen the horrible effect that rapid population growth has on this issue.
Writer Ephraim shows the real reason why the water crisis is one of the biggest global problems in the world. He states that, “The rapid population growth countrywide is the major cause of the prevailing water and sanitation crisis,” according to activists. Not only is the scarcity of water is a problem, but also the distribution of unsanitized water. The main reason behind this problem is that about, “500 trading centres countrywide cannot access safe water sources,”. An increasing amount of people are receiving dirty water because of this issue.
The article clearly states that, “rapid population growth countrywide,” and, “500 trading centres countrywide cannot access safe water sources,” are the cause of this whole water sanitation crisis. Furthermore, the author also stated the reason why rapid population growth is a cause by saying, “the capacity of the existing water and other natural resources cannot sustain the growing number of people utilising them.” This means there is not enough water to support a skyrocketing population. Therefore, an increasing number of humans run out of water each day.
