Towards the end of World War 2 and the Holocaust, the people in America were starting to find out about the situations occurring in Germany. They knew they had to do something about it, so in 1942, someone finally stepped up and sent a report to the Geneva-based representative of the World Jewish Congress (WJC). The report showed that the Germans were implying a policy to annihilate the Jews throughout Europe. This shows that the progression to ending the Holocaust was getting better. People were starting to care a little more and doing something about it. The source “Ushmm” could be very biased because it was last updated in January of 2016, which means some of the information could have been fixed to make one side to look better than another.
Though on November 24, 1942, a press conference was held to say that the Nazi’s was planning on annihilating all European Jews. And a few weeks later, on December 17, many allied governments made a declaration denouncing the Nazi’s plan to murder all jews. The declaration warned Nazi’s that they would be responsible for these crimes if it continued. This shows that as it went on, more, and more countries became aware and attempted to stop the operation. The source “Ushmm” could be very biased based on who published it.
Some possible future questions include:
*What could the military have done differently?
*Could anyone else have promoted better plan?
