Throughout the course of World War 2 and the Holocaust, many things occurred. From war, to death, and starvation, everything was leading up to this event. The end of the reign of Hitler. It all started in July of 1944, when the Soviets took and stand to liberate a camp in Poland called Maidanek. From there, many more were shut down, but it completely ended when the biggest camp of all was liberated. In January of 1945, Auschwitz was liberated. This was the biggest camp in the Nazi territory, were the most deaths occurred. This was a huge milestone in the ending of the Holocaust. This means that with all the survivors, there had a be a place for them to go. So, camps were built for the survivors who couldn’t return to their homes because of threats from other countries. The source “Hitler's Children” was published by a man whose name was Chanoch Ze’evi, therefore the information may be biased because he could have changed the information to make one side look better.
Though the liberation of the camps was very important to starting the ending process of the Holocaust, one other thing really ended it for sure. In April of 1945 Adolf Hitler committed suicide before the allied countries had a chance to capture him. And because of his suicide thousands of Nazis committed suicide. They were taught that it was a more option better than being captured and punished for their beliefs. However, hundreds more were caught and punished for their involvement in the Holocaust.
